My path into learning
From the classroom to learning experiences built for the work.
I started by facilitating live training, then moved upstream into designing the materials, practice, and support that help people apply what they learn. That classroom foundation still shapes every solution I create.
01 Where I started
Facilitation
I started as a sales trainer after becoming really good at the work myself. I facilitated new hire orientation, enrollment courses, and Coaching to Decision. Being in the classroom taught me to notice where learners got stuck, what they needed to practice, and what was missing from the learning experience.
02 Designing the experience
Classroom training design
I started building the experiences I was facilitating: PowerPoints, live scenarios, activities, facilitator guides, and participant resources. I learned to design the full session so each piece supported practice, conversation, and real application.
03 Beyond the classroom
Learning experience design
From there, I expanded into eLearning, learning paths, job aids, and performance support. That shift taught me to choose the right format for the problem, use multimedia intentionally, and make guidance available at the moment of need.
04 Adding theory to practice
Education + technical skills
I earned a master's in Adult Education and Training, a graduate certificate in HR Management, and completed a full-stack web development bootcamp. That education gave me the theory and language behind many of the instincts I had developed through hands-on experience.
05 Where I am today
Designing for the work
Today, I design learning at the intersection of people, technology, and performance. I partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders to understand where people are getting stuck, then design the right solution, whether that's eLearning, technical training, a job aid, or support built into the flow of work.
